Our 4 Co-founders are: Georgios Bourtzos, Christos Papadopoulos, Lambros Kaiktsis and Alexandros Ginnis Georgios Bourtzos (CEO), BSc Georgia Institute of Technology and MA Princeton University in Chemical Engineering, ex- Salomon Brothers trader in NY, with US extensive experience in finance and business. Christos Papadopoulos (CTO), Prof NTUA School of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at NTUA, Diploma and Ph.D. NTUA in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, domain expert in many areas of Marine Engineering and architect of ShipReality’s software development. Lambros Kaiktsis (Chief Scientist), Prof NTUA School of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Diploma AUTH, MS Princeton University and PhD ETH in Mechanical Engineering, domain expert in Marine Engineering Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and Combustion processes. Alexandros Ginnis (Head 3D Engineering), Assoc. Prof NTUA School of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Diploma and Ph.D. NTUA in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, domain expert in Computer Aided Design, Geometric modeling, and XR (VR/AR/MR) technologies. George and Lambros met as graduate engineering students at Princeton in 1987. Lambros returned to Greece after his PhD to became a Professor at the School of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at NTUA. He spent the next 20 years working with Christos and Alexandros, who are also professors in the same school. Upon George’s return to Greece, Lambros introduced him to Christos and Alexandros, and ShipReality was founded in 2018 to transform shipping with new technologies.

We are making an automated workflow for Ship AI Reconstruction from 2D Drawings. This targets a critical bottleneck in the maritime industry that requires 3D models for complex engineering analyses (CFD, FEM) on the 80,000+ existing ships to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, enhance safety and retrofit new technologies to meet environmental goals (CII, EU ETS, FuelEU). The problem is that manually recreating just the 3D hull model from 2D drawings takes an expert naval architect 5+ days. Our software replaces this with an automated product where 3D Hull models can be delivered in hours, unlocking the entire industry's ability to scale, simulate, and modernize. We are working to extend our 2D-to-3D AI ship generation modules to propeller, rudder, compartments, tanks, and internal structures, to unlock full fleet-scale digital twin initiatives.
